Part 2 of The Adventure Begins in Wealth with God Series
At the time of writing this post, I am really seeing how money has had a hold on me throughout my life. I’m recognizing now that it started in early childhood.
Working through the Wealth with God lessons is helping me to see how greatly my parent’s financial state has impacted mine. From early years we are shaped by situations and emotions about money—long before we understand what it is. Like me, many numbers of people go through life without realizing that how our parents and close family members handle and relate to money bears directly on our relationship with it.
When I had my back turned to God I depended on money to solve all the issues I was experiencing, and creating (that’s a whole other post – hahaha). Part of me felt that if I had more money, or could earn more money, I would be able to make a better life for my family, and myself. That seems to be a universal deception. Why a deception? Because money can affect a situation, but it can’t heal hearts and minds, which is where money and financial issues really live. Only God can do that, as He restores us to Himself and shows us our true identity—which is in Him, not money.

In my growing relationship with God, He showed me to take this course, which is unearthing my very wrong and self-damaging perspectives about money.
